At Home Screen, drag to hear what's on it. With VoiceOver on, tapping on an icon doesn't open an app, it just announces what is under your finger.

To open an app, you double-tap.

VO remembers the last thing you touched and you can double-tap anywhere on the screen to open it.

So now that we have a basic understanding of how VO works, what do you think are some things that any student might want to do on the iPad?  How about surf the web?  Let’s try that with VoiceOver.

Go to:  http://www.apple.com/accessibility.

Read a paragraph or use a two-finger swipe to read the whole page.

iBooks.

Read a line or a whole page (two finger swipe down), pause and play (two finger single tap), and move from page to page (three finger swipe).

Turn off VO using Triple Click Home.
